Press Release by the Cuban Interests Section in Washington DC

The Cuban Interests Section in Washington DC wishes to inform the reecipients of services provided by its Consular Office that , in spite of the period of time that has pased and the talks that have been held with U.S. authorities, it has not yet been able to find a banking institution to handle the banking needs for its normal operation and so that full consular services can be offered.

Cuba and Brazil increase Bilateral Cooperation

BRASIL, March 27, 2015. The Minister of Fishery and Agriculture of Brazil, Helder Barbalho, and the Minister of Food Industry of Cuba, Marial del Carmen Gonzalez, signed an Agreement for Bilateral Cooperation to increase the scientific investigations to provide solid foundations to the sustainable development in the area of fishery between both nations and to ease the execution of programs and projects. 

Statement by deputy director for Multilateral Affairs, Pedro Luis Pedroso, on the dialogue on human rights with the United States

As it is known, on July 2014, Cuba proposed to the United States to hold a bilateral dialogue on human rights. This proposal was reiterated last January, 2015, and accepted by United States authorities.

Cuba has proposed to celebrate these conversations next March 31, in Washington DC.

Cuba, United States delegations exchange on telecommunications

From March 24-26, 2015, a United States government delegation, presided over by Daniel Sepúlveda, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and United States coordinator for an International Policy on Communications and Information, is in Cuba to exchange with authorities on telecommunications.

Cuba and Mali Seek for Closer Ties

CUBA,  March 24, 2015. Cuba and Mali today advocated for strengthening their ties in the context of the visit of the President of Mali National Assembly Issaka Sidebe to the Caribbean island.

Upon receiving Sidebe and his delegation, the President of the Cuban Parliament Esteban Lazo recalled the positive development of bilateral relations since 1960, when the West African nation gained independence.
