RUMANIA, August 28, 2014. Minister of Youth and Sports, Gabriela Szabo, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Nieves Iliana Hernández Portales, at the Ministry's headquarters.
During the cordial and friendly meeting Minister Szabo recalled her years as athlete during which she shared events with Cuban athletes Javier Sotomayor and Ana Fidelia Quirot.
BAHRAIN, August 27, 2014. Governments of the Republic of Cuba and the Kingdom of Bahrain signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in health services. The agreement, signed by the Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, and the Ambassador of Cuba, Enrique Enriquez, lays the foundation for cooperation in areas of medical and biotechnological services.
BAHAMAS, August 27, 2014. H.E. Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, paid a courtesy call to the Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Dame Marguerite Pindling.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat and the Governor General reviewed the current situation of the bilateral relations as well as new opportunities of cooperation between both countries.

PORTUGAL,August 21, 2014.— Cuban Ambassador to Portugal Johana Tablada has strongly rejected critical statements against the Cuban medical cooperation in that country by the president of the Bastonario da Ordem dos Medicos, or Portuguese Medical Association, Jose Manuel Silva -- describing the statements as disrespectful and irrational.
