CUBA, September 5, 2019 - The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, will start next Sunday a working visit to the African region, which includes the Republics of Cameroon, Benin, Senegal and Liberia.

PRETORIA, 5 September 2019.- Deputy Minister First of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Marcelino Medina González, and Alvin Botes, South African Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, held this Thursday morning the XV Inter-Chancery Political Consultation between both countries, on the occasion of the visit of the Cuban vice-minister to the African continent.

THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS EARMARKING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO OBSTRUCT CUBAN MEDICAL COOPERATION Declaration by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs The Ministry of Foreign Affairs energetically denounces and condemns the recent aggression of the government of the United States against Cuba via a USAID program designed to fund actions and information searches to discredit and sabotage the international cooperation being provided by Cuba in the health area in dozens of countries for the benefit of millions of persons. This is an endeavor added to the crude pressures exercised against a number of governments in order to obstruct Cuban cooperation and to the earlier efforts for the same purpose such as the special “parole” program designed to steal human resources trained in Cuba.

On June 20, 2019, the US State Department added Cuba to the lowest tier in its 2019 Trafficking in Persons Report. The Report claims that “Cuba does not fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so.”
