The President of South Africa congratulates the Cuban people for the 51st anniversary of the Revolution
SOUTH AFRICA, January 4, 2010.- The President of South Africa, H.E. Sr. Jacob Zuma congratulated the people and Government of Cuba on the occasion of the 51st Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution and paid homage to the contribution made by the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro and Che Guevara to the struggle of the Cuban people for its independence.
In its message the South African leader acknowledged Cuba’s contribution to the struggle for independence of many nations around the world, including South Africa, and stressed that the support that Cuba gave to his country during the struggle against apartheid has been extended through Cuba’s participation in programs of cooperation with South Africa in the fields of health, cultural and academic exchanges, transfer of technologies and capacity building, among others.
The South African Head of State also recognized the achievements of the Cuban Revolution and call on the United States Government to lift the blockade imposed on Cuba and its people. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Sudáfrica)
