Cuban Revolution Anniversary Celebrated in East Timor

Havana, December 28 -- Speaking on Timorese National Television on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, Cuban Ambassador in Dili, Ramón Hernández, said that the Cuban Revolution brought true independence to the island and hope for Latin America.

The Cuban Ambassador said the Revolution gave Cuban people sovereignty, social justice, freedom, and the right to decide on the future for themselves.

Hernandez recalled that Cuba has achieved standards in health and education similar to those of developed countries. He said Cuba shares those achievements with 70 countries around the world where Cuban doctors save lives while other Cuban collaborators teach more and more people to read and write.
