Geneva-Forum:Cuba and Africa Anniversaries
SUIZA, Jan 18, 2010. - The Association House in Geneva, Switzerland, was venue to a forum dedicated to the Cuban Revolution and African independence anniversaries.
The meeting was appropriate to pay tribute to the 51th year of the Cuban Revolution and the 50th of the decade of African independence, during which many peoples of the region were free from colonialist yoke.
In the event that took place in Sala Gandhi, Switzerland, were presented two parts of the film "Cuba, an African Odyssey", produced in 2007 by the documentary maker and Franco-Egyptian journalist Jihan El-Tahri.
In an interactive round table after the film, with interventions of the doctor in International Relations Piero Gleijeses, the professor Anatole Tshizubu Malu, president of the African Popular University in Geneva, and Rodolfo Reyes, Cuban Ambassador there.
In the debate was recognized the humanist essence of the exemplary and heroic internationalist Cuban participation in African lands, as well as in the anti colonialist fights like the defence of the sovereignty.
The Switzerland American Association from the Geneva University, the Non-Government Organization (NGO) Unknown Land and the Association of Friendship Cuba-Switzerland, sponsored the activity, with support of the Cuban Embassy in Geneva. (Cubaminrex - Prensa Latina)
