U.S. Expert Declares that a Fair Trial in the Case of the Cuban Five is Impossible.

CUBA, March 23rd, 2011.- John Nichols college professor and expert to the U.S. Congress on Radio and TV Martí broadcasts, assured that a fair trial in Miami for anyone with bonds with the Cuban revolution is inconceivable.

Nichols gave details about the link between the U.S. government and the Miami press in the process of the Cuban antiterrorists in a conference call.

He also defined the payments made by the authorities to the media in order to mislead the process of the Five as unethical and illegal.

The Committee for the Liberation of the antiterrorists paid homage to the work of Leonard Weinglass, outstanding activist and fighter for the civil rights in the northern nation during the teleconference.

Gloria la Riva, the committee coordinator spoke highly of the work of Weinglass in the process of collateral appeal in the Cuban Five case, and specifically in preparing the 2255 motion of his defendant Antonio Guerrero, and the legal advice in Gerardo Gonzalez’s affidavit.

She also stressed the need of making public all the struggle in this process and the demand to Obama’s administration for the release of the Cuban fighters. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
