Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs considers retention of Rene in United States as political revenge
BRASIL, September 29, 11.- Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, expressed the decisión to retain Rene Gonzalez in the United States is an additional punishment and a political revenge.
Rene is one of the Cuban anti-terrorist fighters, unjustly imprisoned in the United States for more that 13 year, who will be released next week, but the judge decided that he can not abandon US territory.
“It is an additional punishment, a political revenge, to retain him in the United States without his family who can not visit him”, expressed Rodriguez Parrilla in declarationos to the press this Wednesday in Itamaraty Palace.
After holding oficial conversations with his Brazilian counterpart Antonio Patriota, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs denounced that fact of sending Rene to Florida will compromise his security, because that´s the place where the anti Cuban terrorist groups are located.
Rodriguez Parilla stated that it would be a humanitarian gesture very much appreciated by the relatives and the Cuban people if the president of the United States, Barack Obama, grants pardon to the five antiterrorists.
The liberation of Ramon LAbanino, Rene Gonzalez Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez would be an act of justice, a reparation of a grave injustice”, the Minister added. (Cubaminrex)
