Speaker of the Parliament of Indonesia received an update on the 5 Cuban Heroes
Indonesia, February 4th, 2010. Mr. Taufiq Kiemas, Speaker of the Parliament of Indonesia, received the Cuban Ambassador Jorge León, who offered him a detailed explanation and an update on the case of the 5 Cuban Heroes and the unjust imprisonment for more than 11 years in American prisons.
The Indonesian legislator received also a dossier with various information on the matter, and could know that those 5 Cuban Heroes comply extensive and unjust condemn by fighting against the terrorism, while each day are increased the solidarity samples from governments, parliamentary, prize-winning personalities with the Nobel Prize and many other entities and institutions who require their immediate liberation.
The Speaker was pleased in knowing that this year is commemorated the 50 Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Cuba and Indonesia, and both parts were carrying out different commemorative activities, as well as was congratulated for the excellent relations existing between both countries.
During the encounter it was shown the will of the Speaker of the Indonesian parliament in working for the development of the bilateral links, and to achieve greater exchanges of the respective parliamentary groups of friendship.
Kiemas recalled the positive visit of Che to Indonesia in 1959 and the fruitful visit to Cuba of then president Sukarno in 1960, which they marked a historic milestone in the excellent bilateral relations between Indonesia and Cuba, whose history, their noticeable achievements in the sectors of the health and sports, as well as their leaders Fidel, Raúl, Che and many other, they enjoy recognized prestige, admiration and respect in Indonesia.
