Brazilians Support the Cause of the Cuban Five.
BRAZIL, June 30, 2011.- The Attorney General, Eugenio Jose Guilherme, the president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate, Fernando Collor, and the Order of Attorneys of Brazil expressed their support for the cause of five Cuban antiterrorists fighters imprisoned in the U.S. since 1998.
Upon receiving a delegation from the Caribbean nation, which included Magali Llort, mother of Fernando, one of the Five, the Brazilian personalities called for the immediate release of those fighters, who were wrongly prosecuted on fake espionage charges, and are subject to harsh sentences up to life imprisonment.
They officials also said to be aware of the situation of Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez, while Brazil’s Attorney General expressed his willingness to take any action necessary to achieve the final release of The Five. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
