Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica Offers Interview on the Five Heroes to “Irie FM” radio station.
JAMAICA, September 19, 2011.- Last Sunday, September 18, the Jamaican popular morning radio program “Running African”, broadcasted on Irie FM, interviewed, for nearly 15 minutes, Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez, who offered information on the case of the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly imprisoned in U.S. jails.
Within the framework of this radio interview, the Cuban diplomat explained that this month of September, the 6th international Campaign of Solidarity with the Five Heroes was launched, and added that the Five have already served 13 years of unjust imprisonment after being victims of a fraudulent trial held in Miami. He also recalled that the Five have been victims of more than a few cruel procedures during their long incarceration. And two of them, Gerardo and Rene have not been able to receive the visits of their respective wives, Adriana and Olga, because the U.S. hinders it.
Likewise, Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez underscored that a very difficult battle is being waged to reopen Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo’s case for which the relevant Habeas Corpus was filed. He added that next 17th October, comrade Rene Gonzalez would have served his time in prison, but U.S. authorities has sentenced him to three additional years of supervised release in U.S. soil. In closing, the Cuban diplomat reiterated that President Obama should use his constitutional powers and immediately free our Five Heroes.
The afore-stated Jamaican radio station has national reach. (Cubaminrex/Embacuba Jamaica)
