Salvadoran Organizations Demand the Freedom of the Cuban Five.
CUBA, July 11, 2011.- Salvadoran solidarity organizations demanded the immediate freedom of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters in U.S. prisons for more than 12 years.
The demand was reaffirmed in an event organized by the committee of the Coordinated Salvadoran Solidarity with Cuba from the city of Chalchuapa, 80 kilometers outside of the capital. The demand was also made by the youth officials of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, who are visiting El Salvador.
Rafael Valdés, who presides over the committee, explained that the event forms part of a broad range of activities that are underway in Chalchuapa in solidarity with Cuba. Activist Norma Lobos added that information about the injustices committed against the Cuban Five in the U.S. were posted in public places and distributed around the city. The youth officials from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela called to maintain the defense of Cuba from the criminal economic blockade of the United States. (Cubaminrex-PL-RHC)
