Saint Lucia Solidarity Association Condemns the Incarceration of the Cuban Five.

SAINT LUCIA, March 29, 2011.- A one-hour long program was hosted on Caribbean Harmony Radio 107.9 FM, which is an already common space of solidarity with Cuba, by Rossini Francois; a member of the Committee in Defense of the Cuban Five and Rawley Harvey, President of the Humanistic Saint Lucia-Cuba Solidarity Association.

Rossini, member of the Committee in defense of the Five, commented on the Cuban system of government. He highlighted the atrocities committed by the different United States administrations against Cuba and in particular in the case of the Five Heroes, condemned to long and unjust sentences.

Rossini expressed the need to lift the economic embargo imposed against Cuba by the United States. He stressed that in spite of that Cuba had provided broad cooperation to Saint Lucia.

For his part, the President of the Friendship Association, Rawley Harvey gave details of the Cuban cooperation on the island, including the work by Cuban the Medical Brigade as part of Operation Miracle in Victoria Hospital’s Ophthalmology clinic, as well as in the hospitals of Castries, Soufrière and Dennery, not to mention the work done by Cuban engineers and sports coaches. Rawley Harvey informed the public about the upcoming Radio show on Saturday 2 April 2011 with the participation of graduates in Cuba who will refer to their experience during their stay in Cuba.
