Celebration of the National Scientific Event of the Cuban Medical Team in Belize BELIZE, 27 April 2009.- With the presence of all the Cuban medical team in Belize, the National Scientific Event was celebrated. The event is a result of the investigation process in all districts of Belize. The act was presided by the Ambassador of Cuba in Belize and by national and regional health authorities. A total of 9 investigations were discussed along with 40 poster presentations. The awards for all categories were done by the Hon. Pablo Marin, Minister of Health of Belize and by the Heads of the Cuban Medical Team and the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in the country. The event allowed the consolidation of the investigative tradition of the Cuban Medical team were various situations of Belize’s health priorities were discussed. A special moment was the defense of an investigation done by Dr. Riverol, a Belizean graduate from ELAM medical school, and whose work received an award at the District level.
