Fidel meets with Daniel Ortega

CUBA, April 22, 2009. The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, met for close to four hours with Daniel Ortega, president of Nicaragua, and his wife, Rosario Murillo, to discuss events at the Summit of the Americas.

According to a bulletin broadcast by Cuban Television’s National News, Ortega, his wife, and other persons close to the president arrived in Cuba on April 21 at 12:32 a.m. from Port of Spain.

In the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, the Nicaraguan president made a profound speech and played an important role in the recently concluded Summit of the Americas, the bulletin noted.

It also specified that Ortega and Rosario met with Fidel from 10:47 to 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, to talk about the development of, events and results of that Summit (Cubaminrtex- AIN) •
