Venezuela's President Chavez in Cuba CUBA, April 10, 2009. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived in Cuba early Friday from China, and was welcomed by his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro, a national TV news program reported. Chavez told press that the aim of his visit is to prepare with Raul Castro and Fidel Castro the coming summit of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), starting April 16 in Caracas. The Venezuelan President is accompanied by his Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro, Energy and Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez, and other ministers and official from the South American nation.
