The Victory in Playa Giron is Celebrated in Belize Belize, 19 April, 2009. With simultaneous political and sports activities in all districts of Belize, the victory of our people at Playa Giron was celebrated by our collaborators of health, education, agricultures and members of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission. Also present were Belizean friends of Cuba and members of the Association of Cuban Residents in Belize. After the central activities the competitions began and with them some surprises. The teams which were deemed to be the weakest came out victorious as an unexpected homage to the combatants that in unequal struggle triumphed the memorable afternoon of 1961. Important was the victory of the Association of Cuban Residents in Dominos, which consolidated their leadership in these matches. It was a day of lots of activities, were the physical preparedness of our collaborators was put to the test, in case there is ever need to take up arms to defend the conquests of our socialist revolution.
