Mexico’s Foreign Ministers calls for Lat Am Integration

CUBA, December 11, 2009.- Foreign Ministers of Cuba and Mexico advocated for strengthening intergovernment relations and Latin American and Caribbean integration in line with the beginning of a new summit of ALBA in this capital.

Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Patricia Espinosa highlighted Cuba"s leadership in the development of these processes of regional complementation.

This call coincides with the celebration of the five years of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) created in 2004 by Cuba and Venezuela with integrating purpose.

Espinosa had a meeting with his counterpart and host Bruno Rodriguez who emphasized the common positions and interests of Mexico and Cuba in the multilateral agenda.

Rodriguez estimated that both nations are moving along a constructive and promising road in their links taken up a year ago after being hit during Vicente Fox administration.

The chief of the Mexican diplomacy ratified the affection between the peoples of Cuba and Mexico whose governments work to correspond with those historical relations of friendship, she said.

The visitor considered "substantive" this visit, her second one in two years seeking to follow up on the numerous agreements signed between both governments.
