Argentinean President Puts off Official Visit to Cuba CUBA, January 11, 2009. Cuban President Raul Castro was informed that Argentinean President Cristina Kirchner will not be able to begin her official visit to Cuba on January 11 as it had been scheduled, due to health reasons. The Cuban President sent a message to the Argentinean head of state wishing her a speedy recovery and telling her that she shouldn’t feel sorry for the postponement, since the most important thing now is her recovery. The information was published on Sunday on the front page of Juventud Rebelde morning paper; the news article adds that Argentinean Foreign Minister Jorge Triana, announced in his country, that in coordination with Cuban authorities and due to the aforementioned reasons, the visit by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to Cuba was re-scheduled for January 18.
