Delegation of the Cuban Parliament visits Suriname SURINAME. March 4, 2009. A delegation of the Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular (National Assembly of the People’s Power) of the Republic of Cuba is visiting Suriname for an exchange of ideas with the Surinamese parliament and to establish relations of friendship. The Cuban delegation consists of the Reverend Pablo Odén Marichal, parliamentarian who represents the Las Tunas province in the Cuban parliament and Silvio Castro, an official of the Permanent Commission of Foreign Relations of the Cuban parliament. The distinguished visitors will have official meetings with Paul S. Somohardjo, Speaker of the Parliament of Suriname, with Lygia Kraag-Keteldijk, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and with the Minister of Public Health, Celsius Waterberg. The delegation was welcomed at the Johan Adolf Pengel Airport by Andrés González Garrido, Cuban ambassador to Suriname and Guno Castelen, member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Suriname – the Surinamese parliament.
