Honduras´ Jose Manuel Zelaya on Working Visit to Cuba CUBA, March 2, 2009. Honduran President Jose Manuel Zelaya arrived in Cuba for a working visit and he was welcomed by Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca at Havana´s Jose Marti International Airport. The Honduran head of state will also participate at the 11th International Encounter of Journalists on Globalization and Development Problems, which was inaugurated on Monday at Havana´s Conventions Center with the attendance of over 1,000 experts from 52 nations of the world. President Zelaya is scheduled to make a presentation at the international forum on Tuesday. He will also held talks with Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz. Honduras re-established diplomatic relations with Cuba on January 26, 2002, and such links, which are considered as positive and friendly at present, are mainly based on Cuban cooperation in the areas of health care and education.
