Minister of Health of Belize Meets with Cuban Ambassador BELIZE, 27 of March 2009. The Minister of Health of Belize, Hon. Pablo Marin met with Cuban Ambassador Manuel Rubido at the Headquarters of that Ministry. Also present were CEO for Health Dr. Peter Allen, Dr. Hubert Garcia, Head of the Cuban Medical Team in Belize and other officials from the Belizean Ministry. Minister Marin recognized the sustained work carried out by the Cuban medical professionals and committed his participation in the planned activities to commemorate the X Anniversary of the Comprehensive Health Program on the month of April. Both sides reviewed the medical cooperation implemented in Belize and committed to begin the training of local health technicians by the Cuban medical specialists in the country in areas such as imaging and electro medicine, among others. The Cuban Ambassador ratified the will of Cuba’s health authorities to continue the training of Belizean medical graduates as specialists, with emphasis in those areas of need identified by the Ministry of Health of Belize.
