U.S. Blockade on Cuba Denounced in Panama

Panama, October 17, 2009. Denunciations of the U.S. blockade on Cuba topped the agenda of the 10th Solidarity with Cuba Meeting Saturday, held at the University of Panama, as part of actions to support the cause of Cuba.

A related resolution is expected to be signed at the end of the meeting, which is attended by delegates from several Panamanian provinces.

Organizing committee honorary president Miguel Angel Candanedo warned on the importance of denouncing the U.S. blockade on Cuba as long as that infamous imperialist law is in place.

In the meantime, Cuban ambassador in Panama Reinaldo Calviac recalled that Washington’s blockade on Cuba remains intact. The U.S. blockade has meant about 96 billion dollars in losses for Cuba, and it is coupled with attempts to isolate Cuba from the rest of the peoples from the Americas and the world.

The case of the five Cuban anti-terrorist unfairly imprisoned in U.S. jails will also be high on today's agenda. (Cubaminrex- RHC)
