Belize, 23 of September, 2009. Six Belizean students traveled to Cuba today as part of the Scholarship Program that Cuba offers Belizean students of low income each year. At the airport terminal to bid farewell to the students were members of the Cuban Embassy to Belize, of the Cuban Medical team and authorities of the Belizean Ministry of Education, family and friends. The new students will join over 280 Belizeans that are currently pursuing studies in Cuba in different specialties, principally in the field of medicine and other health related careers. Cuba has offered in 2009 a total of 30 scholarships to Belize, of which 22 are for medical studies at no cost for the students. (Cubaminrex- Embacuba Belice)
