Director of Newspaper “Grenada Voice” Met with Cuban Ambassador to Grenada

GRENADA,  7April 2010.  The Director of the Grenadian weekly  “Grenada Voice”, Leslie Pierre, and the Cuban Ambassador  to this country, Angel Reigosa de la Cruz, held a meeting in the offices of this newspaper in order to strengthen the bonds and cooperation between Cuba and this national medium, which issues 3 500 copies.

Pierre assured the Cuban diplomat that in his newspaper, there will always be a space for Cuba’s messages and current news, in order to keep the Grenadian people well-informed.

Reigosa took advantage of that opportunity to update Leslie on the effects of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, the situation of the Five Cuban antiterrorists jailed in U.S. prisons, and the media campaign unleashed against the island after the death of a common criminal by hunger strike, and now they are trying to portray him as a victim of the Cuban government.    Regarding this latest event, he added that his man received all the medical assistance possible from the Cuban medical doctors and regrettably he died in his reluctance to eat food.  This has been grossly manipulated by the powerful Western media.

In the meeting, they also spoke about the mass media in the respective countries.   “Grenada Voice” was founded 28 years ago.
