Raul Castro Sent Greetings to Salvadorians

EL SALVADOR, December 7th, 2010.- Cuban President Raul Castro Ruz sent fraternal greetings to the people, government and President Mauricio Funes, reported on Tuesday Cuban Foreign Minster Bruno Rodriguez.
Rodriguez ended on Tuesday the first official visit of a Cuban Foreign Minister in the history of bilateral relations.
In a joint statement of Rodriguez and his Salvadorian counterpart Hugo Martinez, disclosed at a press conference, both expressed the desire to strengthen ties of cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
Answering questions of reporters, Rodriguez stated Cuban president is aware of the visit and recalled that he received Funes with great pleasure during his stay in Havana in October.
Cuban minister satated the bilateral relations are excellent and its prospects, with the huge existing potencial, are extremely promising. Martinez said the first foreign policy act of the president Funes, when taking office on June 1, 2009, was the restoration of diplomatic relations with Cuba, broken by the military dictatorship in 1961.
He also stated this step was taken to overcome a historical debt that El Salvador had not only with the peoples of both countries, but also with the entire American continent. (Cubaminrex - PL)
