CUBA, Jan 16, 2010. - The Permanent Commission of Foreign Relations of the Cuban National Assembly (Parliament) expressed its sorrow for the tragedy faced by the Haitian people after the devastation caused in Port-au-Prince by an earthquake earlier this week. “In the face of such a terrible disaster, the humanist spirit and solidarity must prevail among the international community to urgently assist the Haitian people with all possible resources and thus alleviate their pain,” a declaration from the Cuban parliamentarians published on Saturday by Granma newspaper reads.
