Cuba and Mexico Strengthen Bilateral Ties


Mexico, February 11, 2010. - Mexico´s Federal Deputy Alejandro Encinas said Thursday that Mexico will send a top level delegation to the next Cuba-Mexico inter-parliamentary meeting because wants to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Encinas who represents the Democratic Revolution Party in the Chamber of Deputies said that it is not only his party that is willing to strengthen relations with Cuba, but all Mexican political organizations who will be sending representatives to that meeting.

Encinas, former head of the Federal District Government said that they expect the Mexican parliamentary representation to the annual meeting to include all coordinators of political groups in the two chambers of Congress.

Encinas said that relations between the two nations seriously deteriorated under the administration of former President Vicente Fox, although there has been an improvement in recent years.

The annual Cuba-Mexico inter-parliamentary meeting will be held in Havana from February 18-21. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
