Solidarity with Cuba in Bolivia Grows

BOLIVIA, February 1 ---- Cuban Ambassador to Bolivia Rafael Daussa said that the movement of Solidarity with Cuba keeps growing in all member nations of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA).

Speaking at a meeting with groups that support Cuba, the diplomat praised campaigns organized to denounce the blockade Washington has imposed on Havana for the past 49 years.

He also mentioned the efforts made for the release of the Five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States since 1998.

Daussa said that those countries siding with Cuba, such as Venezuela, Nicaragua and Honduras, create a point of friction with the United States.

The diplomat pointed out that the joint work of Cuban and Bolivian doctors and other experts in the Moto Mendez Solidarity Mission (a research on disabled people), many Bolivian doctors and medical personnel have volunteered to travel to Haiti to assist the victims of the January 12th earthquake.

Daussa said that this year, one of the responsibilities of the new Plurinational Legislative Assembly would be to vote the members of the Parliamentary Cuba Friendship League. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
