Recognition for the successful Work of the Cuban Medical Brigade at their Second Annual Assessment Meeting Saint Lucia, February, 28th, 2010. - The work undertaken by the Cuban Medical Brigade in Saint Lucia was described as successful during the celebration of their Second Assessment Meeting which took place last 21st February. At the event, in which all members of our Brigade of Collaborators participated, as well as the staff working at our Diplomatic Headquarters, a summary was made of all the work completed by our professionals, who render their services at the country's main Health Care and Hospital Centres. The high evaluation of the work undertaken by our professionals was commended as well as their acceptance by the people of Saint Lucia. During the emotional Program of the activity, it was acknowledged that almost a million patients have been seen and treated by the Cuban specialists, as well as the record of 253 lives saved, up to this present day. The most outstanding members of the Brigade were awarded and the new Head of the Health Collaborators in Saint Lucia, Dr. Barbarita Rodríguez González was introduced at the same time that we bid farewell to Dr. Orlando Diaz and Epidemiologist Yanet Rodriguez Prieto.
Upon closing, Hugo Ruiz, Cuban Ambassador to the country, recognized the work of our group and urged them to continue working with the same love and professionalism that they have worked with up to this date. (Cubaminrex - EmbaCuba Santa Lucia)
