Nicaraguan President Receives New Cuban Ambassador

CUBA, November 20, 2010.- The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, received Cuban diplomat Eduardo Martinez, who has been appointed as the new ambassador to Nicaragua.

President Ortega stated that the word ¨Cuba¨ alone conveys solidarity, loyalty, and commitment to the people, and he affirmed that the Cuban Revolution has made history and will continue to make history.

President Ortega told Fidel and Raúl Castro and the Cuban people that Nicaragua will remain firmly opposed to the U.S. blockade and continue to fight for the freedom of the Cuban Five.

The Cuban ambassador thanked the Nicaraguan President for his words and said that the two countries have a common history in the struggle of imperialist and hegemonic interests in the region. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
