Panamanian Journalists Condemn U.S. Blockade Against Cuba CUBA, October 26, 2010.- The members the Panamanian chapter of the American Association of Bolivarian Journalists condemned the U.S. blockade against Cuba. In a letter to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, they called for the end to the restrictions against the island which have been responsible for millions of dollars lost by Cuba. The actions against the blockade and the resolution vote on the blockade before the United Nations to take place on Tuesday were reported in the Uruguayan newspaper, ¨La República.¨ In related news, the Portuguese Movement in Solidarity with Cuba called on U.S. President Barack Obama to lift the unjust blockade, and various political and intellectual associations in France also joined the world-wide call to end the hostile, unilateral policy.
