Chavez Extols Cuba's Aid to Venezuela in Health.

CUBA, 12 August 2011.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez asserted on Thursday that everything achieved today in his country in the field of health wouldn't have been possible without the support of revolutionary Cuba. The contact with his country took place via telephone from Havana on Thursday, on the occasion of the inauguration of the third High Technology Center (CAT) of the metropolitan area, as part of a plan of 35 units within the National Public Health System, the Radio Nacional de Venezuela radio station reported.

Heading the ceremony was the Venezuelan Minister of the People's Power for Health, Eugenia Sader, along with members of 16 health committees and residents of the Barrio Pinto Salinas, located at El Recreo parish of the Capital District.

The CAT, situated on the Andres Bello Avenue of Caracas, will offer free, comprehensive, quality medical services, informed the minister.

Sader told the Venezolana de Television television channel that, in addition, 10 new centers of the Mission Barrio Adentro II were opened in various parts of the country on Thursday -five centers for comprehensive diagnostic, four rehabilitation rooms and one CAT.

The one inaugurated on Thursday has all the necessary services and doctor's offices, so residents in Caracas can have tests that have exorbitant prices in private clinics, asserted the minister of this sector.

By way of this message, the head of state addressed the Venezuelan people and expressed that he feels well in the process of chemotherapy he's receiving. He pointed out that he received the fourth chemotherapy session on Thursday and that he expects to finish this first week of treatment on Friday, in this his second trip to Cuba for this reason.
