Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica sends greeting message to the 2nd Regional Meeting held in Dominican Republic
JAMAICA, November 21, 2011.- The Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica sent last Friday, 18th November, a message of solidarity to the 2nd Meeting of Cuban Residents in the Caribbean, held in Dominican Republic last Saturday 19th November.
The unabridged text of the message reads as follows:
The Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica takes pleasure in sending this message of support and solidarity to the 2nd Regional Meeting of Cuban Residents in the Caribbean, which will session next November 19th, 2011, in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
We welcome this meeting which is a milestone in the organizational development of the Cubans in this part of the world, in their efforts to keep and foster the bonds with the homeland and our people, in support of the efforts of the Cuban people for its economic and social development and the preservation of its Independence and sovereignty.
We are certain that this meeting will serve as a rostrum from which we will reaffirm our support to the Government and the people of Cuba, in the face of the imperialist aggressions and the media campaign that is launched against the island; that one more time, the unjust and criminal blockade our homeland is suffering, will be condemned and the release and the immediate and unconditional return to Cuba of the five heroes still imprisoned in the United States, serving unfair sentences for fighting against international terrorism, will be demanded.
Dear brothers and sisters, notwhistanding that we will not be physically present in Santo Domingo, our spirit and our unrestricted support will be present in the beloved Qisqueya, the land of immortal Maximo Gomez Baez, who, leading the first machete charge reaffirmed an entire people’s will with the imperishable scream of:
İ Independence or Death!
Kingston, November 18, 2011”
