TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, December 8, 2011.-  Army General Raul Castro, President of the Councils of State and Ministers  arrived to Trinidad and Tobago yesterday, December 7, around 10am, to carry out an official visit to that Caribbean nation.
President Raúl Castro met an intense agenda during his official visit prior to his participation, leading the Cuban delegation, at the IV Cuba-CARICOM Summit, this  Thursday, December 8, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Cuban President was welcomed by President George Richards and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. After the welcoming ceremony Raul held official talks with the Trinidadian Prime Minister.
Prior to the meeting, Raul Castro, accompanied by President George Richards laid a wreath at the monument to the the martyrs of the First and Second fotos: Estudio RevoluciónWorld Wars, at the Memorial Park.
During talks with the Trinidadian President, the Cuban Head of State stressed the significance of bilateral relations between the two countries and conveyed the Cuban people´s appreciation.
Later, President Raúl Castro held conversations with Prime Minister Kamla Persard-Bissessard, who is also the first woman Prime Minister in the history of Trinidad and Tobago. Once again, Raúl Castro thanked the Prime Minister for the position adopted by her country, Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados, to initiate diplomatic relations with Cuba in 1972.
During the evening, Army General and the Cuba delegation participated in an oficial dinner hosted by the President of Trinidad and Tobago, in Knowsley Residency. After the counclusions, both mandataries made remarks in which both of them highlihgted the historical transcendence  of the decision adopted in 1972. Raúl also expressed that Cuba will gon fighting together with the Caribbean nations to consolidate the friendship and integrality that characterize the relations. Raúl proposed a toast for CARICOM,  Trinidad Tobago and Cuba. (Cubaminrex)
