Health Minister of Jamaica thanks cooperation offered by Cuba.

JAMAICA, February 28, 2011.- Last Tuesday, during an extensive press conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, Minister Rudyard Spencer spoke positively about Cuba.

In this framework, Minister Spencer mentioned his most recent working visit to Havana, highlighting that we was able to exchange views on a number of issues included in Cuba’s cooperation programs offered to Jamaica in the health sector. He expressed interest in increasing the number of Cuban health specialists who are currently rendering services across the country, and added that efforts aiming at boosting cooperation in the area of equipment repair and the training of nephrology nurses were being made. Likewise, the Minister is also exploring the possible use of Herberprot-P, a Cuban medication prescribed for the therapy against diabetic foot ulcer.

Minister Spencer reiterated his gratitude to Cuba for the cooperation it has been offering Jamaica in the medical field.
