Cuba, Bolivia for Strengthening Military Links

CUBA, July 8, 2011.- Cuban and Bolivian military authorities gave green light to the strengthening of links between their respective armies, as an expression of the Havana-La Paz solidarity. This decision resulted from a meeting between the General Staff chief of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Gen. Alvaro Lopez, and Commander in Chief of Bolivia's Armed Forces, Admiral Armando Pacheco.

The parties insisted in the need of continuing strengthening ties between the armies of both nations which are members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA).

Pacheco, who arrived in Havana on Saturday in his second trip to the Caribbean nation, visited military units, FAR higher education centers and places of historical and cultural interest.

Talks between the two military chiefs were held at FAR Ministry, in Havana, in a environment of friendship and respect. (Cubaminrex-Prensa Latina)
