Members of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica Meet with Relatives of Cuban Five

KINGSTON, May 23, 2011.-  Last Tuesday evening, May 17, a representation of the Cuban State Mission in Jamaica held an emotive meeting with comrades Adriana Perez and Olga Salanueva, wives of Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez.

In the aforesaid meeting, held at the Cuban diplomatic mission, Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez, highlighted the presence in Jamaica, for the first time, of Adriana and Olga, while speaking about various aspects of the case of our Five Heroes and reiterated the full support of all the members of the State Mission to the fight to achieve the immediate and unconditional release of the five antiterrorist fighters who remain unjustly imprisoned in US.
On the other hand, Adriana and Olga spoke about the latest developments of the case of the Five and shared personal experiences. Likewise, they thanked the support that the groups of solidarity with Cuba have offered in various countries of the world, including Jamaica, as well as the support given by the Government and the people of Cuba in this struggle.

Within the framework of this touching function, children of Cuban officials read poems of Antonio Guerrero. Likewise, messages from the Cuban health specialists making up the Medical Brigade, the Ophthalmology centre and the Educational Brigade in Jamaica, were read, as well as a declaration by the Embassy’s staff. In all of these declarations and in the individual speeches of the attendees, it was revealed the firm decision not to give up this just fight and joining word and action together until the Five return to their homeland.
