Cuban teacher in the Bahamas was interviewed on Bahamian radio program “Around the Family.” . BAHAMAS, May 20, 2011.- The important contribution of the Cuban teachers brigade “Felix Varela” whose members are working in The Bahamas in benefit of the hundreds of Bahamian students was highlighted by the Cuban teacher Daimarelys Verdecia during the interview with Pamela Issacs, interviewer of the radio program “Around the Family”. At this moment, Daimarelys is teaching Spanish in Crooked Island, a small Island located in the south part of The Bahamas. During the interview, that will go on-air in the station ZNS 1540, the Cuban teacher thanked the opportunity that represents for her to be in The Bahamas, helping the Bahamian government and people to increase its standard in Public Education System. She mentioned that in August 2003 was signed the first cooperation agreement by the Ministry of Education of Cuba and the Ministry of Education of the Bahamas and it was renewed in 2010. Daimarelys who is from Bayamo, important city in the Cuban History, has received the acknowledgment of her colleagues, the Principal of the School that she works in and High Authorities of the Modern Languages Division of the Ministry of Education of the Bahamas in reference to her good job with her students, who have learned to sing in Spanish the popular Cuban song ”Guantanamera” and they are preparing now for attending the next Art and Cultural National Festival that will take place in a few days.
