Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica meets Mayor of Savanna-la-Mar.
JAMAICA, April 27, 2011.- Last Saturday, April 23, Mr. Bertel More, Mayor of the city of Savanna-la-Mar, located in the parish of Westmoreland, met Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez and his accompaniment, including Minister Counsellor Micaela Ramirez
Also present, on behalf of Jamaica, was Councillor Paul Wilson, who thanked Cuba for its cooperation programs benefiting Jamaica, including the distribution of energy-saving bulbs.
During this cordial meeting, both parties exchanged views on the possibilities of strengthening the friendly ties existing between both countries. In this regard, Mayor Moore, expressed his interest in establishing a stable relation with his counterparts from Cuban cities and provinces in order to identify possibilities for exchange in terms of commerce, tourism, cultural heritage, human resource training, technical assistance, among others.
