BARBADOS. May 19, 2011.- It concluded by the Counsellor of the Embassy of Cuba in Barbados, Orestes Hernandez, during the press conference where the "Erroll Borrow Centre for Creative Imagination", University of the West Indies in Barbados launched the III Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase.

Addressing representatives of various media, the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of UNICEF and other guests, the Cuban representative said:

"Our governments are obliged to promote the film in the region, with aesthetic values of authenticity, reflecting our dreams and contradictions, and definitely leave exiled royalties and cultural patterns that we have been imposed for decades."

Hernandez said that "the road of independence and dreams realized his route began to draft the Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase in 2006, and acknowledged the work of the Office located in Havana, noting that the sample already been filed in 12 countries in the region and another 13 have already given dates for their implementation.

After mentioning that it was open the call for the Fourth Meeting Shows and filmmakers from Africa, the Caribbean and their Diasporas, the Counselor of the Embassy of Cuba added:

"But only be happy when our communities are the leaders of shows, when they are our students, our grandparents, i.e. where a "real party people." (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Barbados)
