Ricardo Alarcón heads delegation to XII Cuba-Mexico Interpaliamentary Meeting By Juan Leandro Speaking to local media, the MP for the Mexican Labour Party (PT), Sergio Uzeta, recalled that both countries have maintained diplomatic relations for 100 years, only interrupted during the 2005-2006 Fox administration. He added that presently the trade and economic ties "are not at their best" because of the world financial crisis, but expressed his hopes that this meeting will inject new impetus. Uzeta also emphasized that besides economic and international issues, Mexico and Havana share interests in climate change, natural disasters prevention, as well as in education, health, culture and sports.
