Cuba and China sign Cooperation Agreement
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, September 14, 2011. Within the framework of the 3rd China-Caribbean of Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum held in this capital, Cuba and China signed a Cooperation Agreement whereby the People's Republic of China gives Cuba a donation for 30 million of Yuan, equivalent to USD $ 6.4 million.
The Agreement was signed by Chinese Minister of Trade Mr. Chen Deming and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuban Mr. Orlando Hernández Guillén, who was the head of the Cuban delegation at the event.
Cuban Deputy Minister expressed his thanks for solidarity and friendship of Chinese Government and people towards Cuba, expressed in this occasion, through the donation granted.
Deputy Minister Hernández Guillén noted that funds received will be used to improve the hydraulic networks in the country as well as the irrigation systems in the agricultural sector.
For his part, Minister Deming expressed his satisfaction with the realization of this donation and highlighted the excellent friendship between the Cuba and China Parties, Governments and people. (Cubaminrex/Embacuba Trinidad and Tobago)
