PERU, September 7, 2011.- The president of Peru, Ollanta Humala, has expressed his heartfelt condolences for the recent death of the Chief of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, Corps General Julio Casas Regueiro, who passed away last Saturday in Havana. The Peruvian president expressed his condolences to the government and people of Cuba, during a hearing held last night at the Presidential Palace in Lima, which was attended by Cuba’s Charge d'Affaires, Pavel Diaz. Humala also asked Diaz to extend his condolences to the family of General Casas Regueiro. Previously, the Defense Minister of Peru, Daniel Mora has sent a condolence message to the Cuban government following the news of the General’s death. Also, Peru’s Minister of Women Affairs, Aida Garcia Naranjo, and the Socialist Party president, Javier Diez Canseco, signed a book of condolences place at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Lima.
