President Evo Morales Receives Honoris Causa

President Evo Morales Receives Honoris CausaHAVANA, September  19, 2011.-  This millennium belongs to the peoples and not to the oligarchies, if we want real equality and freedom for all worldwide, said Bolivian President Evo Morales.

Alter being awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Political Sciences at the University of Havana in the presence of Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Morales said that his country lives with dignity and sovereignty.

Capitalism is not the solution to current problems of mankind, he said before extolling the example of leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro in the struggle for a better world.

"Mankind is awaiting for a new political thesis about the rights of Mother Earth, of the natural resources, of life in general," said Morales.

"Cuba is always a source of inspiration, and despite the economic, commercial, financial blockade imposed by the United States for half a century, it represents the first country in solidarity with the rest of the world. That solidarity is unpayable and unachievable, and I never find the means to pay it," said Morales, who also highlighted Cuba´s achievements in health and education and support offered to Bolivia in those fields.

"We have to share the few things we have rather than what we have left over," said Morales. (Cubaminrex/Prensa Latina)
