Successful performance in Jamaica of Cuban dance theatre company “Danza del Caribe"
JAMAICA, September 9, 2011.- Last 4th September, within the framework of the artistic event “Cultural Fusion 2011”, the Jamaican public enjoyed the performance of two Cuban dancers making up “Danza del Caribe” dance theatre company from Santiago de Cuba directed by prestigious choreographer Eduardo Rivero.
The extraordinary performance took place at the Kingston “Little Theatre” before an audience of more than 200 persons, including members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps. The Cuban dancers and Professor Eduardo Rivero performed together with dancers from the National Dance Theater Company of Jamaica and other countries.
Staff members of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica attended this important cultural activity, an opportunity Ambassador Yuri Gala López took the floor to apprise the audience of the national and international successes attained by “Danza del Caribe” and its links with its Jamaican counterpart.
On behalf of Jamaica, the presence of officials from the Ministry of Foreign affairs, the Ministry of Culture and the Office of the Prime Minister, was remarkable. (Cubaminrex/ Embacuba Jamaica)
