Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and Brazil Hold Official Conversations

HAVANA,  January 16, 2012.- As part of an official visit to Cuba, H.E. Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, held official conversations today´s afternoon with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
During the fraternal meeting, both Ministers confirmed the excellent situation of the bilateral relations, reiterated the common willingness to profound and strengthen the ties between the two nations and reviewed the details of the next visit to Cuba by the Brazilian President, Dilma Rousseff. 
Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota expressed satisfaction for this new visit to Cuba and highlighted the potentials to continue diversifying and increasing the bilateral ties.
Similarly, the Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister stressed Brazil as the second commercial partner of Cuba in Latin America and the Caribbean, and mentioned the strong ties of collaboration between both countries in diverse spheres. The Cuban Chancellor praised the support of Brazil in the struggle of the Cuban people against the unjust Blockade imposed by the Government of the United States during more than half a century. 
Likewise, the meeting was an opportunity to discuss regional and internatinoal issues of common interest. Both authorities highlighted the importance of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States which initiated during the Summit celebrated in Caracas, Venezuela, las December 23, 2011.
The dintinguished visitor was accompanied by H.E. Antonio Simões  and H.E. José E. Martins Felicio, Deputy Secretary General for South America and Brazilian Ambassador to Cuba, respectively, as well as other officials of the Brazilian Chancery.
Accompanying Minister Bruno Rodriguez were Rogelio Sierra Díaz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as other officials from the Cuban Chancery.
During today´s morning, the Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs held meetings with the Vice Presidents of the Council of Ministers, Marino Murillo and Ricardo Cabrisas. (Cubaminrex)
