Google Bans Cubadebate Videos in Youtube.

CUBA, January 13th, 2011.- The technical center of Youtube (www.youtube.com) ––owned by Google–– sent a notification to the Cubadebate website (www.cubadebate.cu) informing that its account on this social network had been shut down due to a complaint for a copyright
violation.

According to Granma newspaper, the note referred specifically to a fragment of a video of the presentation in Miami of the Legal Fond for terrorist Luis Posada Carriles that was recently published. The video was edited from a larger one reproduced by other websites without any author or owner specified.

Cubadebate affirmed that “Youtube is infested with videos containing manipulated and tendentious information on Cuba, with images stolen from Cubadebate and Google has not removed them from its social network, in spite of our complaints in this respect.”

Cubadebate’s editorial team condemned this attack on the freedom of expression demanding the reestablishment of its channel, and inviting all friends around the world to join this demand. (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
