Acknowledgment in South Africa of the legacy of Che Guevara
SOUTH AFRICA, March 18, 2009. The contribution of Che Guevara to the just freedom causes in the world was acknowledge by Dr. Wally Serote, CEO of the Freedom Park Trust, during his opening remarks at the Annual Human Rights Conference.
Dr. Serote announced that this year it will be inaugurated the Gallery of Leaders in the Freedom Park, where 24 heroes of South Africa and the world will be honored because of their contribution to the independence of Africa and the end of apartheid which allow millions of Africans to enjoy its essential human rights. A reproduction of the image of Che will be placed along with those of Amílcar Cabral, Julius Nyerere, Oliver Tambo, Steve Biko, Toussaint Louverture and other prominent freedom fighters.
The Freedom Park was inaugurated in December 2006 and the Wall of Remembrance built its perimeter included the names of 3106 fallen Cubans in the internationalist missions in Africa. (Cubaminrex- Embacuba Sudáfrica)
