Ekiti Ophtalmological Centre begins operation

Nigeria, January 2, 2010. - Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Segun Oni disclosed that de Ekiti Ophtalmological Centre would commence operation on Monday, January 4.

The State Governor made this known while paying host to ophthalmologist and other medical personnel from Cuba who is going to work at the Eye Centre.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the governor said the Eye Centre would be the first of its kind in the entire Continent of Africa and the fourth in the world.

The governor added the Opthalmological Centre, which is designed to use the latest technology to provide treatment for partially and totally blind patients from within Nigeria and the entire West African sub region, would be a hub where some of the most complex eye surgeries would be performed.
