Belarus to Coop with Cuban Radio-TV       

BELARUS, May 24, 2010. Alexander Zimovsky, president of the Belarussian State Company for Radio and Television, reiterated the interest of Belarus to strengthen the cooperation with Cuba in the radio and television transmissions from both nations.

Zimovsky pointed out the importance to widen and deepen this collaboration, when he received Cuban Ambassador Alfredo Nieves Portuondo at the host building of the Belarusian State Company for Radio and Television in Minsk.

Zimovsky called for the increase of the exchanges for materials, experience and distribution of the respective TV works.

The bilateral agreement is signed since 2009 with solid cooperation bases.

Nieves Portuondo informed Zimovsky about the creation of the Cuban Radio and Television Institute on May 24, 1962, and the recent media campaign against the island of Cuba by the US imperialism, trying to overthrow the Cuban Revolution.

He also told him that the White House dedicates large sums of money and radio and TV attacks, and so has been for more than 52 years, with more than 3,000 hours on multiple radio and TV frequencies.

The Belarusian State Company for Radio and Television has now four national channels, five republican stations and five radio and TV regional companies.(Cubaminrex-PL)
